Frequently Asked Questions
When can I call to schedule a pickup?
You can call September through January 1st - 7 days a week, from 9am to 6pm to schedule a pickup. If we are busy, please leave a message or send us an email, and we will call you back as soon as we are able. Pickup is on a first come-first serve basis. The gun hunting season will be our busiest, so please allow for flexibility. Generally we can pick up your harvest within 24 hours of your call.
Can I drop off my deer to your location?
We do not accept any deer being dropped off to our location. Here at MVP, we take pride in offering exceptional customer service. In order to ensure our customer’s venison is delivered on time, we stick to our pickup and delivery schedule. Please call us if you wish to take part in our services.
What municipalities do you serve?
MVP provides pick up and delivery services to the surrounding Wisconsin Dells, Baraboo, Reedsburg, Mauston, and Portage areas.
How much venison will I get back?
This answer can vary greatly. It all depends on the damage done by your weapon, how many times it was shot, where it was shot, bone fragments, wounds, etc.
On average you will receive between 30-35% of the field dressed weight. So if a deer weighs 100 pounds you will get back 30-35 pounds of finished meat on average.
Can I have my deer turned into snack sticks, sausage or other specialty products?
Due to our unique business model, MVP does not provide these services. However, we are able to grind your venison scrap pieces, and prepare it for delivery to the meat market of your choice if you want these specialty products.
Does my deer need to be field dressed?
YES! All deer MUST be properly field dressed prior to pick up. If you are unsure on how to field dress a deer, please watch the informational video below for instructions.
